Our school

Our school is committed to ensuring that our school environment is calm, orderly and safe and one where learning can occur in a supportive environment.

We have very clear expectations about how students need to behave in our school environment. Our school has a defined process for the teaching of behaviour expectations through Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) and places a priority on the teaching and reinforcing of positive and appropriate behaviour. This is very well supported by our parent and carer body and community. Our school is continually reviewing aspects of our Responsible Behaviour Plan. Each week, we explicitly teach, model and reinforce behaviours that relate to our school rules. We believe that behaviour needs to be explicitly taught and positively reinforced by all staff members, in order for consistency of practices and processes across the whole school.

A whole school positive reinforcement system is in place where students are recognised for behaving in an appropriate manner, which includes individual reward programs (blue slips) and certificates and rewards handed out on parade. Students who continue to show appropriate and positive behaviour are invited to attend an end-of-term reward activity like the recent 'Water Play Afternoon'.
